How to Remove Boat Shrink Wrap and Prevent Contamination
Remove all vents, zippers and any other non-shrink wrap material. This includes removing the plastic straps that cinch the wrap to the belly of the boat. Cut the wrap above the strap at the belly of the boat, so the strap falls away, leaving only shrink wrap.
Once all non-shrink wrap has been removed, the wrap should be bundled and tied with a strip of shrink wrap.
This program is a collaboration between WHOI Sea Grant, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension of Barnstable County, and the towns of Bourne, Chatham, Eastham, Falmouth, and Wellfleet.
